April 2024: Year In Review

We’re recapping 2024 through a Ghanaian lens.

We learnt that Nestlé, the brand behind Celeriac and Nido, has been adding more sugar to these products destined for countries in the Global South.


Ghana’s first female Professor of Economics at KNUST - Grace Nkansa Asante - was announced.

Two Ghanaian pencil artists were featured in the 2024 Derwent Art Prize. One of them, Nana Kwaku Boateng, was also named winner of the People’s Choice Award.


And at AKADi Magazine HQ, we discussed some of the books we’d read that describe life in 17 and 18th century Accra.
